What’s up, what’s up everybody! Welcome to dexternelson.com. I, of course, am Dexter Nelson, a.k.a. TechDex, Athalos.
I’ve had the domain dexternelson.com for a while now but never really did anything with it. Most times, when people create domain names for themselves it turns into one giant “me fest” and I didn’t really want that.
Dexter Nelson: My Goals For This Site (And You)
Instead, I wanted to serve you, my readers, with awesome content and invite each of you into the world of Dexter Nelson.
With that said, I’ve structured the site with categories for everything that I do whether it’s programming, or music, or research that I do.
All you have to do is click on the category to the right and dive right in.
I want you to feel welcome here. I want you to be able to connect and ask me questions and interact with me.
Not, to get the first two out of the way.
Why do they call you “TechDex”?
TechDex is a nickname given to me by fellow students and instructors at the trade school I went to.
My first nickname is actually “the USS Destroyer” because when i was very young, I didn’t play with my toys – I took them apart to figure out how they worked.
That curiosity continued and I graduated from toys, to electronics, to computers, and it led me to becoming a programmer and network engineer.
Where did the name “Athalos” come from?
Athalos is a name I made up for myself when I was 12. See, I fell in love with the story of the Musketeers and my favorite musketeer is Athos.
Athalos is just a play on is name. I added ‘al’ and Athos became Ath-al-os.
When I started writing my book, I named one of the lead characters Athalos. Consequently, when I started playing World of Warcraft, my main character’s name is a mage named Athalos.
Anyway…
ON THAT NOTE,
I think I’ve prattled on long enough, don’t you think? (I will carry on for hours if you let me).
Thank you very much for visiting my site and I look forward to reading your comments!
