I tell my full story in the book, but years ago, I was on the road to an early grave, (I do not say that lightly). I was morbidly obese and had stacking health problems ranging from sleep apnea to persistent edema. I used to get winded just walking to my mailbox and back, and I used to wake up in cold sweats and raging headaches. I was always in pain, and I was constantly low on energy, no matter how much I slept.
Then, one day, not long after a slight health scare, (it turned out to be nothing), I was at one of my sister's weddings and I saw my pictures. It was like I was looking at myself for the first time, and I was disgusted with myself!
How did I let myself to the point where I couldn't even button up a 48L suit jacket without my belly pushing it out?
I knew right then and there that I had to do something, because in that moment, I realized that if I continued to live the way I was, then I wouldn't live too much longer. I was 44 years old.
I became a full time student of biology that day and began learning the science of the human body and its processes, and ever since, I've used my own body as a test lab to finally prove what works - combining real metabolic science with everyday life.
